Israel Democracy Index
Would you object to living next-door to a homosexual couple? This is not a provocation. This is a legitimate question from the Israel Democracy Institute’s Democracy Index for 2013. This question, in addition to many others, attempts to map the Israeli public’s opinions on daily matters in order to understand just how deeply the principles of democracy are rooted in Israeli society.
The Israel Democracy Institute’s Index is conducted by the IDI amongst a representative sample of the Israeli population, including minority groups, and its results are presented to the Israeli president and are published for the general public.
The IDI, the Walla website, and ProMarketing Wizard built an app with an on-line questionnaire that allows users to answer some of the Democracy Index’s questions, and see their own results as compared to the general public’s results.
Within one week of the app’s airing on IDI’s website and on the IDI’s and Walla’s Facebook pages, the questionnaire was completed by approximately four thousand people.
The app allows the user to see the distribution of each answer in a clear info-graphic manner.
